General Purpose Labs

Walla Walla University has six general-purpose computer labs located throughout campus. When not reserved, these labs can be utilized by students, faculty, staff and alumni.

 


鲍尔斯霍尔电脑实验室

This computer lab is located in Bowers Hall room 103. It consists of 31 computers running Windows 10.

Kretschmar Hall PC Labs

These computer labs are located in Kretschmar Hall rooms 215 and 216. KRH North consists of 25 computers and KRH South has 23. Both labs run Windows 10.

图书馆电脑实验室

This computer lab is located on the main floor of the 图书馆. The lab is located on the left from the main entrance. It consists of 12 computers running Windows 10.

里格比霍尔电脑实验室

This computer lab is located in Rigby Hall basement room 050. It consists of 28 computers running Windows 10.

请注意: Data is purged from the lab computers regularly and anything saved to the Desktop or C:\ drive will be lost. All personal data should be saved to the cloud or external storage.



Linux实验室

There is a dedicated Linux lab in KRH as well as several other Linux workstations in various other locations in KRH and CSP.  Users may log into Linux workstations using their regular campus account.

The Linux实验室 使用政策 is a supplement to the "Policies for Responsible Computing at Walla Walla University" and should be read first. In the event of a conflicts between the Responsible Computing Policy and this policy, the former prevails. This policy addresses a few issues specific to Linux computer usage.

Unattended Computers

Computers are primarily intended for interactive use. As stated in the Responsible Computing guide, "Any workstation left unattended for more than fifteen minutes may be appropriated by another user." Users leaving a terminal unattended for more than fifteen minutes will be logged out at another user's request.

Long Running Processes

If you have a process that needs to run for an extended period of time, you need to start it as a background job and set it's "nice" level to at least 10. Processes found to be hogging computer resources may be "niced" for you, or they may be killed.

Log into the computer labs using your campus login information.

注意: Be certain the 3rd login textbox is set to WALLAWALLA.

After three failed login attempts your account is locked for your security. If you think your account is locked or you cannot remember your password please contact the Help Desk.
